Speaking of which, for some of us, October isn’t just about Halloween, but it’s also an annual celebration of German culture. Oktoberfest events are great family fun with tons of German food, dances and of course, lots of beer.
Here are some Oktoberfest events in Palm Beach County:
Juno Beach
Oktoberfest: Rain or shine, Juno Beach is celebrating with grilled bratwurst, sauerkraut, hot dogs, German potato salad, pretzels and beer. Children under 5 get in free and you can save on tickets by signing up early. 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10/27
West Palm Beach
Oktoberfest at Bistro Ten Zero One: Bistro transforms into a beer garden with a live DJ, German dinner and beer from local breweries like Due South, Copperpoint, Accomplice, Funky Buddha and more. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, 10/12
The Butcher Shop’s Oktoberfest: Enjoy three weeks of Bavarian fun with live music, hourly contests featuring liter chugs and liter hold, German pretzels, schweinshaxe, sausage platters and German desserts.All day, Friday to Sunday, 10/06 to 10/15
Lake Worth
PBD Oktoberfest Picnic at John Prince Memorial Park: German-themed foods, home-brewed beers, games, raffles, prizes, music and lots of fun. Other South Florida homebrew clubs will be there serving homebrews too. 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10/21
Lantana —–Editors Pick
44th annual American German Club Oktoberfest: Held on 10 acres of awesomeness, this annual event is one of the largest in the county. Enjoy authentic German cooking such as bratwurst, potato salad and sauerkraut as well as great beer and pastries. There’s traditional folk dancing and singing too with a kid zone and craft booths. 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. 10/13-15 and 10/20-22
Boca Raton
Biergarten Boca Raton’s Oktoberfest: Lots of weekends to celebrate. Enjoy Live music, Oktoberfest drink specials and lots of beer. Check out the dates here. 10/06 to 10/20
